When in Doubt, Sue Yourself
Well, that was a brisk little gathering! The board convened for one singular, shining purpose: to vote themselves right into a lawsuit — this time “in their official capacity,” no less.
Hanoi Avila, Beth Jones, Chris Rocco, and Carrol Norrell approved their own cameo appearances, amending the petition again (second time’s the charm?) and sprinkling in claims of “personal injuries” for good measure.
Remember, this is the same lawsuit designed to hush three community members — one of whom is a current board director, and another a former resident who probably thought they’d escaped the drama.
Mark your calendars: Next court date is September 17, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., Williamson County Courthouse. Bring popcorn, or at least strong coffee.
Closing thought: Apparently, if you can’t win the argument, you can always add yourself to the plaintiff list. But can board members, in their “official capacity,” really tap the taxpayers’ piggy bank to fund their personal courtroom crusade? If so, we may need to add “litigation hobby fund” to the FY 2026 budget — right between “dinner for the family” and “reality therapy.”
